Introduction
The Nature's Valley Rest Camp in the Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park is situated in the De Vasselot on the banks of the Groot River, about 30km from the town of Plettenberg Bay and about 40km from Storms River Rest Camp (Tsitsikamma Section).
This camp is a bird watchers' and hikers' paradise with a variety of trails to choose from.

Accommodation
Please note: The forest hut accommodation is currently under construction due to some needed upgrades.
These forest huts are 40km west of Storms River at Nature's Valley which is part of the Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park.
All forest huts and ablutions have electricity as well as electric geysers in the ablutions. The forest huts are also fitted with a standard three point electric plug. The camping sites have not been electrified at this stage.
Two coin-operated washing machines and tumble driers are available in the main ablution facility.

Camping
All with communal ablution, laundry and washing up facilities. A maximum of six persons, one caravan with a side tent and one vehicle, or one tent and one vehicle, or one autovilla or motorised caravan will be permitted per site.

Activities & Facilities
Activities
Nature's Valley is a bird watchers' and hikers' paradise.
There are numerous day trails to choose from such as the Salt River Mouth Trail, The Kalander Trail, and the Groot River Trail. A map, which also serves as permit, is available at Nature's Valley Rest Camp (Tsitsikamma Section) Reception and the shop in the Nature's Valley Village.
Canoeing from the rest camp to the Groot river mouth is absolutely the best way to unwind. Canoes are available for hire from Nature's Valley Rest Camp (Tsitsikamma Section).
Guests may also enjoy swimming, sailing, dinghy and board sailing on the Groot River estuary. For those who want to relax, there are the unspoiled sands and surf of Nature's Valley Beach.

How to get there
The Nature's Valley Rest Camp (Tsitsikamma Section) is situated some 615km from Cape Town, 195km from Port Elizabeth and 68km from Plettenberg Bay.
The access route from the N2 highway and all internal roads are tarred. Car hire is available at Plettenberg Bay, which is also the nearest airport (limited scheduled flights). Airports are also found in George and Port Elizabeth.
Gate Times
- Gate opening is 07:00 and closing times 18:00
- Security service, starting 18:00 – leaving 07:00 in the morning
- Late arrivals (after 18:00) may collect keys the entrance gate with Security
- Day visitors allowed until 05:30
Overnight guests arriving after 18:00 should call resort on (044) 531 6700, if late arrival is expected and key(s) may be picked up at the gate with security service.

Vital Information
Climate
A temperate coastal climate with an annual rainfall of 1 200mm. The wettest months are May and October, and the driest are June and July.
Day Visitors
Day visitors are welcome subject to the payment of a nominal daily conservation fee.
Firearms
No firearms are allowed.
Entrance Gates
Visitors should remain in their vehicles and are serviced through their vehicle window.

Tips & Hints:
- Nearest garage or vehicle repairs at Witelsbos – 30km from Storms River Mouth Rest Camp (Tsitsikamma Section).
- Vehicle fuel is available in all parks (or is available on the park periphery) - South African legislation stipulates that fuel stations will accept legitimate petrol/fuel/garage/credit/debit cards or cash as a form of payment for any fuel purchase.
- Medical/hospital and pharmaceutical facilities at Kareedouw – 55km from Storms River Mouth Rest Camp (Tsitsikamma Section).
- Post Office and police services at Storms River village – 13km from Storms River Mouth Rest Camp in the Tsitsikamma Section (a post box is available at the rest camp).
- This is a multi-dimensional marine/forest national park. Remember to bring the following: bathing suit, hat, binoculars, sun block, walking shoes, bird and mammal reference books, snorkelling equipment.
- Scuba divers must present valid certificate and supply own equipment. SCUBA refill facilities are available at Storms River rest camp.
- The swimming pool at Storms River Mouth Rest Camp (Tsitsikamma Section) is reserved for resident guests only.
- Roller blades and skateboards are prohibited.
- Pets are not allowed in a national park.
- No bait, shells, driftwood or any other organism, living or dead, may be removed from the Garden Route National Park.
- Powerboats are not permitted on the river at Nature’s Valley.
